MANI JNX
MANI JNX is a 20-year-old British-Punjabi DIY bedroom artist based in Birmingham, whose songwriting focuses on themes of nostalgia, yearning, identity, and queer love. Her music is profoundly confessional, with a sound that exists somewhere between bedroom pop, folk, indie rock and electronic, yet never feels limited to those genres. She has a beautiful control over the story she tells in each song, creating uniquely transcendent soundscapes, with melodies and textures placed with precision and intent.

Unafraid to break genre boundaries, songs such as “Redeye” and “White Whale” move in a genre-fluid, winsome atmosphere that a listener can get lost in, paired with intimate and poetic lyrics. Tracks like “Fade Into You” are brutally honest, while showcasing MANI JNX's powerful but intimate vocal range.
MANI JNX's debut EP, “love: sin”, is a dreamy, intimate project that reopens emotional wounds just to have them stitched back together again. The EP starts with the crackle of a record being played on a turntable and opens with lyrics that carry all the tender rawness of an open nerve. On doing it again, she sings: “I wonder if she’ll throw away a little bit of me again when she cleans her room this week,” capturing the familiar ache of heartbreak and messy situationships. This EP presses on that bruise in your heart while also soothing and comforting you all at once, resonating with the people who have never gotten over anything and always find themselves reflecting on their past. MANI JNX is breaking genre boundaries and carving out her space in the music industry, all from her bedroom.
